We have created boring and industrial institutional care systems that lack imagination. Long term care has been described as "warehousing our elders." This is not only a path for the wealthy or privileged. Mum and I found a way to make nature accessible. We could not afford a cruise or luxuries, so we simply went out everyday into nature. We called them our mini-adventures. Even in the midst of winter, in the final stages of Alzheimer's dementia we found a way to be in a nature - like a couple of hobos.
